I played a lot of poker and chess growing up, and I was typing at 60 WPM in mIRC chatrooms long before I'd honed my handwriting (which is still terrible).
In my teens, I dreamed of making it as an online poker pro and slogged on Amazon MTurk to fund a $100 bankroll. That didn’t work out (go figure).
But my appetite for probability and risk stuck with me, and reading Popper’s Digital Gold in 2016 pointed that instinct toward crypto specifically.
These days, I also spend a lot of time thinking about applied AI. In work, where it can make things better for our customers. In my personal time, where it can make things better for all of us.
