Lover of tech, good design and good art. I played a lot of poker and chess growing up, and I was typing at 60 WPM in Counter-Strike 1.6 and Warcraft 3 long before I had honed my handwriting (which is still terrible).
In my teens, I dreamed of making it big as an online poker pro and slogged away on Amazon MTurk to fund a $100 bankroll. As you’d expect, that didn’t work out. But my appetite for probability and risk stuck with me. Reading Popper’s Digital Gold in 2016 pointed that instinct toward crypto specifically, and led to some fun professional opportunities.
I ran a bootstrapped cryptocurrency news publication where I was first to the scene for some historic events like the DAO hack and Ethereum hard fork. I’ve since spent seven years at Chainalysis - each role pulled me closer to the product itself, starting in sales, then customer support, then pre/post sales engineering, and now product manager.
These days I’m focused on Reactor, our crypto crime busting graphing software, working with a bunch of talented people on making it the best it can be. I also spend a lot of time thinking about applied AI and where it can make things better for us and our customers.
I love the act of creating, and shipping something people find useful or enjoyable is what drives me. Right now that means tools that help catch crypto crime. If you’re working on something interesting, I’d love to hear about it.
